Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  RELYANT Global is classified through the United States Small Business Administration (SBA) as a Small Business. Founded in 2006 by honorably discharged Department of Defense servicemen, RELYANT continues to manage operations that support relief efforts in the United States and around the world. We are currently seeking a Controller to lead the Company's accounting and financial planning and analysis functions. This is a great opportunity to become an integrated member of our management team reporting directly to the CFO.

 

Qualifications

 

 • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred

 • 5+ years demonstrated experience in accounting

 • Government contract accounting experience highly desired

 • Competence with Deltek Costpoint preferred

 • Strong Excel skills a must

 • Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments

 • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels

 • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to interact with clients and resolve issues quickly

 • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance

 

Responsibilities

 

 • Lead and develop team to support finance, business planning and budgeting

 • Across multiple businesses – analyze and present financial reports, oversee all financial statements, project/program accounting, lead audit process, oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning, keep senior leadership abreast of organization’s financial status, manage cash flow and forecasting, payroll, AR and AP, update and implement as necessary business policies and accounting practices to improve Finance department’s policies and procedures, effectively communicate and present financial matters to the company management team

 • Work closely with and manage third party IT vendors and consultants

 • Direct daily work load of Finance staff

 • Develop financial and tax strategies

 • Facilitate annual tax preparation with 3rd parties

 • Report financial results to the executive team

 • Oversee bookkeeping for several smaller entities using Quickbooks

 • Maintain and review appropriate insurance coverage

 • Facilitate annual financial audit

 • Monitor cash balances and forecasts

 • Arrange for and manage corporate credit cards

 • Maintain banking relationships & Treasury functions

 • Oversee weekly/biweekly payroll processing

 • Ensure that periodic reconciliations are completed

 • Maintain and process revenue recognition which entails detailed project cost analysis

 • Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data

 • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions

 • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

 • Oversee weekly cash logs process

 • Maintain fixed asset ledger and depreciation schedules

 • Maintain and analyze company indirect rate structure

 • Maintain prepaid schedules and amortizations

 • Maintain company’s ERP relationship with Neosystems and Deltek

 • Year-End processing – system maintenance

 • Manage and facilitate month end closing process

 • Participate in monthly project reviews
